Sherry Sinift
Sherry Sinift is the founder and director of the String Academy of Wyoming. She is also on the faculty of the University of Wyoming Department of Music. Her activities at UW include teaching violin, acting as the Administrative Coordinator and Supervising Teacher for the UW String Project and performing with the Summit Chamber Players. In the summer Ms. Sinift serves on the faculty of the Indiana University Summer String Academy and the IU Retreat for Professional Violinists and Violists.

As a performer Ms. Sinift has given concerts in Europe, Canada and the U.S. with the Hawthorne Quartet, served as Associate Concertmaster of the Cheyenne Symphony and given numerous solo recitals, in addition to her recent activitiesin the Rocky Mountain region with the Summit Chamber Players.

Previously she has served on the faculties of the String Academy of Wisconsin, the Wisconsin Conservatory and the Lawrence Conservatory.

Ms. Sinift received her violin training from Tadeusz Wronski, Mimi Zweig and Gerald Fischbach. She holds a Masters degree in violin performance from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Music degree in violin performance from Western Michigan University.

Ms. Sinift has received extensive pedagogical training from Mimi Zweig. Other pedagogical influences include Paul Rolland, Shinichi Suzuk and Ivan Galamian.
